RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE WORKS

...Lyle Jensen: "Development is taking place.

It's gonna happen.

Whether we feel we want it to or not, it's going to happen." There are a couple of large barriers to the deal.

Lyle Jensen: "We have to have sewer system out here.

With the numbers of sewer systems that are in the community, we can't afford to let this aquifer get tainted with chemicals from sewer systems." Chubbuck Public Works Director Steve Smart estimates that to be a $40-million investment in a long-past-due upgrade to the sewer collection system - about half of which is necessary for the Jensen property to be developed.

Lyle is 68 years old, and with each of his 14 children grown and gone, he says he may not be around to see the completed project but looks forward to seeing the first shovels hit the dirt.

However, that may be some time.

There are six sibling property owners.

One of them, Lyle's younger brother, has retained an attorney, contending he, as one of the principals on the selling, opposes the details of the sale.

As you can imagine, the negotiations continue.
