I stopped (radiation treatment for breast cancer) for approximately two weeks (because of chickenpox).

You know, I was itching and scratching and all those unattractive things...

but it stopped at my neck.

I was very grateful to Mme.

Curie (for the radiation).

Was Nora Desmond — in "Sunset Boulevard" — your favorite role?

They all present you with something that's challenging and wonderful.

With Nora Desmond, the challenge was losing my mind eight times a week.

I've done three musicals, (including) "House of Flowers" (and) "No Strings." That was an enormous pressure and an enormous responsibility.

Nora Desmond was extremely difficult...

739 steps eight times a week in high-heeled shoes, and the costumes were usually around 50 pounds.

I try not to do a project that I don't want to do.

Does your house in Hollywood have 739 steps?

It has no steps.

When are you going to write your tell-all autobiography?

It won't be that interesting in terms of tell-all because I think everyone knows about everything, (but) I think it's going to be an interesting book.

Regrets?

I would have loved to have been a wonderful wife to someone, and I wasn't able to make that work.
